This weekend i am finally installing my new suspension . i got tokico illuminas and H&R springs. I have a few quick questions. my first question is wut is a rough estimate for how long this install might take. another is would it be alright to drive my car for a few days (short distances) before i get my car re-aligned. the reason why i ask is depending on wut time i get done sunday night im sure the places to have it done will be closed and then monday i will be busy with work and stuff so i cant have it done til probably tuesday.

Well I have lowered a few hondas when i did mine and me and a buddy did the max lowering in like 3 hours. It was so easy, the easiest I have ever done. Do you have any camber bolts cuz that was the hardest part of mine and that was still easy. Yeah you will be fine to drive a while with it not alligned. It will not hurt anything other then tire wear and possible MPG. But man you should be fine for a few days just get it done ASAP.

1st question...

If you've got air tools, and mechanic skills....about 1-2 hours depending on how FAST you work.

2nd question....

Get an alignment as soon as you can. It wont kill it, the major thing will be uneven tire wear....but if it's short distance it wont matter.

what do i need camber bolts for i thought we dont have to worry about stuff like that on our cars?

It depends on your drop, Sprint is a bigger drop then most. They still said i did not need camber bolts but I did it and I am happy. I have perfect perfect tire ware. If i didn't have them i know that i would have un-even tire wear. And we do not need them in back because of the strait axel. So its your call but for $32 i did it. ANd i am glad. What drop are you doing.


O yeah and air tools help tons

im only doing a 1.5 inch drop tho so should i get them or not, i have heard not i thought.

Well here is what I would do, they are pretty easy to put in, it actually only replaces the upper bolt of the strut mounts. So you can go ahead and lower the car without them and run it for 5000 10000 miles. If you are starting to get uneven wear then buy the bolts. Its not hard to do. But I would say with 1. You should be fine. I am down 2. So thats what i would do.

ok sounds good, i will do with out and then see from there, doesnt matter much now anyway tho cuz my tires are messed up because the car has been miss alligned since i got the car just not bad.

Sounds good man. Good luck with the lowering. Hope it looks good when you are done. I am sure you will be happy. Just remember when you jack up the back end of the max to take out the rear struts you cannot jack from the starit axel you must go from the sub frame. FOOD FOR THOUGHT. Later

If you have access to a lift it will greatly reduce the amount of time on the project as well.

I'm no mechanic just an average joe, it took me about 5 hours with a learning curve. Just work at an good pace with air tools and you should be done in no time.
