Trouble starting and CEL came on. Scanned and it came out P0340(camshaft pos. sensor). Took it out and cleaned off the metal fillings on the electrical conductor. Put it back in and it seems to help start it back up.
What i wanna know is, can some other engine malfunction(ex.starter going bad) cause the CEL light to indicate P0340?? Thanks in advance

Should I just purchase a new sensor before I assume its something else????? IF so, where and how much are they???
