Bought a used Y-pipe, problems...

Well, i bought a used Y-pipe on ebay, i thought i was gettinga deal for 160$ shipped.

I got it, it looked pretty decent, took it to a shop to get installed because i dont have any of the tools.

The dude has some problems in 1st place getting all the bolts off, but he does.

Installs it, but it was hard, and then trys to screw back in the o2 sensors, and those holes are stripped....

I had to leave with o2 sensors hanging out of pipe..

My god that was the loudest thing i have ever driven, but i have to admit it sounded pretty beastly,..

Then i found out that having holes in my pipe, and o2 sensors hangin out is really bad,

took it to a different stand where i could work on it, kinda forced o2 sensors in, but it still has some leaks

right now its just got o2 sensors forced into stripped o2sensor holes, and it has leaks in other places up front of the car..

Sounds like a diesel up to about 3k rpm, then its just how i think it should sound, its pretty cool, but you guys think those other leaks are real bad?

thanks for any advice

Getting ne O2 bungs put into the pipe is $20. Why didn't you just have him put in new bungs or rethread those? Any kind of leak is bad.

you gotta get it fixed right. a good exhaust shop can cut the sensor bungs out and weld in new ones, hope you haven't stripped the sensors. get the other leaks checked & repaired too. too bad everybody doesn't play fair.

That's the least of your worries. If somehow the O2 sensors get loose and start getting knocked around the pipes or by rocks, you'll need new ones.
