performance mods for newbie

hey, finallly decided to learn how to mod my car, kinda newbie at this. what are some good performance mods to get started for a max, i already ordered a stillen high flow intake (expensive, hope its worth it), but just want to know what are some good performace mods that can help improve acceleration from a stop and overall. kind of tight on budget right now, so don't really want anything that will put a hole in my wallet. i also want to do some cosmetic mods, but guess that will come a bit later, performance first.
