Chrome tint sucks.

Any tint other than regular smoke color sucks.

I wouldnt suggest mirror tint, i think it looks fugly. Pending on where you live cops mite bust you up for mirror.
I'd say go with 20% You dont really need anything more then that.
Plus it looks real dark, and at night its great. If your gonna hit the windsheild i'd go with 35% That way you can still see.

I just got 20% all around; will post pics soon. I drove around last night to see how it would affect my vision. It's darker but not so bad that I can't see nor does it pose a safety issue.

wow all this mirror tint bashing? wtf? i have a 97 black max se and just got the mirror to smoke fade (going from bottom - mirror to top - smoke) and i'm sorry, it looks f*cking sweet and everyone that sees it says so, on your WHITE max, definitely not a good idea with the mirror tint, and a lot of other colors for that matter, but black - it looks nice... so ya i'd listen to everyone else and go with like 20 or darker, even 30 wouldnt be bad cuz your white paint will make it stand out quite a bit...my $.02

I guess i got that "chrome like" tint, but dunno. I went to the tint place and they guy said that its Quantum Tint and that it would look good on max and that it has some extra "never fade/bobble" warranty on it, which i think is BS but still. Here are the pics:

P.S.: Mine is 14% tint fyi

5% only...what the point of paying for "tints" if people can still see inside of ur car?

Here's a pic of mine. Not sure what percent but I'd guess less than 10 (probably 5?). I can't see inside of it from the side at all unless the sunroof is open and even then it's difficult.

I liked it 100% until trying to back up my driveway in the dark this morning with the remnants of tropical depression Frances dumping mass quantities of rain!

Hey man where did you get your tint done? Is there a place on the south side of Atlanta that you might recommend? I want to get it as dark as is legal. How much do you think it would cost these days for all windows and the visor on the windshield?

I friggin hate chrome-fade tint. Please don't do that to the max. ilyaat's looks like "dark-mirror"...I used to have that. I like that but I don't like the regular bright mirror. I think you should go with like a 20% smoke...On my last car I had 5% on the sides and 20% on the rear window. That way the state boys wouldn't be so quick to bother me. It worked everytime. It's all up to you. Just make sure not to get that chrome-fade crap.

Just had mine re-tinted to 20% (rear half of car), old stuff was fading/bubbling.

Looks damn good, I'm very happy with it. My max is dark green, if it matters.

I'd say don't go with anything above 30%, you pay the same for less of an effect. Don't go stupid dark either though, or you won't be able to see at all during the night. 10-20% would be just fine, seems to be the general consensus among these orgers.

The dark mirror is a cool effect, but don't go all-out chrome. It will look crappy and ruin both everyone else's and your feelings towards the car.

on a white max

7% tint from and back with 17% on the sunroof and the 9" visor is 30%
i was pulled over and ticket for illegal tint once in almost a year now. i told the judge i had a appt to get the tint off next week and he dissmissed it.

7% is dark. if you have problem seeing at night i dont recomend it. but you do get used to it. fast. i usually ride with my windows open at night anyway- except in the winter. i actually want to get another layer of 30% all around. but im doin the back window for now. that'll make about 2%

this is my boy's car. its a 2k and he has 17% recflective/ mirror tint. the back looks a lil diff from the front cuz the car came stock with a weak mirror tint that he didnt want to strip off. the diff is really minimal and i can barely tell in person

i think his car looks HOTTT with the mirror tint, but im def a black/ charcoal tint kinda guy

I have 5% tints on my Maxima. I love it. Nobody can see you during the day or at night. It is a little hard seeing out of it at night. All you can see are lights and white objects. But, I'm used to it.

+1 on 35%. It's light enough to see well at night and gives the car a nice clean look.

I know its a little off-topic, but I wanted to see if anyone else has heard-seen this kind of tint. I have those electro-chromatic, or just plain Transitional lense coating on my glasses.Just wondering if anyone has put a trans-tint system on their windows. It would be pimp-shizznits if the window could tint 5% in pure sunlight, and be 35% at night or in rain. That way, its tinted when you want it, and not when its dark.

Sounds interesting. I'll bet that someone has thought of this before, but it would be expensive as heck. But you're right, it would be so cool to cruise along side someone through a tunnel where you can see each other pretty good and they're all up in your business and then you get of the tunnel and the windows tint.

Don't mod your GLE. I have one and just want to hang myself everyday. It is FWD and autotragic ... the 2 worst things. I want a 96 or 97 5-speed, but it isn't an intelligent financial move to go from a 95 GLE to a 96 or 97 5 SPD. Maximas are kick *** cars. They provide sufficient power to compete, but converting to a manual costs and buying a "new" 4th gen 5 SPD with high miles just isn't smart. Our cars will go over 200K just fine, but small maintance problems will begin to appear.

I have a little over 110K on my 95 GLE and a TON of money is being dumped into it because all maintance and problems came in at once. I spent over 250 because I failed emissions because EGR went bad and CEL didn't come. I have to spend over 400 in tires next oil change.

Buttttttttt ... then again ... it is your car and your money. Do whatever you want. Just my .02 cents.

a new law was recently passed. 35% is the lowest you can without risking getting a $200 ticket. Windshield except for that blue part at the top isnt legal.
