Will the I30 front grille be a parfect fit on a 97 max? has anyone tried this before?

No way, no how ... the grill on the I30 is part of the hood.

after taking a look at a similar model I30

It became incredibly clear how extensive the retrofit would need to be:

1) the I30 grille is attached to the hood.
2) the I30 bumber area the receives the grille, is different from the Maxima
3) the I30 bumber is molded into the side fender further than it is on the Maxima.

so the retrofit would require:

1) an I30 hood, with grille
2) an I30 bumber
3) 2x 130 front side fenders.

and then, if you have fog lights, you will need to buy I30 ones to fit in the new holes in the bumper, as well, you may need new headlights (I'm not sure, I didn't take a good look at them).

You are probably better off with a Trenz grille, it looks a bit more sophistcated than the stock one
