Does knocking automatically mean Cv joint?
I have had knocking coming from my front end for a while now. I had the front right axle changed a couple of months ago with a rebuilt one.The knocking stopped for a while but it is now knocking again.
It used to only knock when I took left turns but now it is knocking even when I drive straight.
My question is, is the CV joint the only thing this could be? Could it be that steering joint that is further behing the axle,b/c the boot on that is loose?
My boots on both axles are not busted so I am kinda confused on this one.

Well, I'm about to replace both drive shafts becuase the outer boots are gone. I get a clunk, clunk, clunk every time I turn right or left. I worry that it could also be the rack and pinion, but I'll know as soon as my shafts are done. I'll keep ya posted.
