brake trouble

I need some help with my brakes. Recentley my rear brakes have been making some noise, grinding and sqealing to be exact. We managed to isolate the noise to my rear right wheel. I think the caliper might be sticking or frozen and i hear thats a common problem with our cars. I took the pads out and they were clamped down on the disc, another reason i think its frozen. the pads were uneven. I'm not sure what that means exactly. I have no idea what i can do to fix the uneven wear and grinding. Please help me. I have no idea what I can do and I dont feel like taking it to anyone unless i have to. Thanks in advance.

I'd check the other side. If it looks nasty consider buying two remans and change both rears. You proably never flushed the brake fluid either so might as well do that also.

The e brake cable on our cars is in a bad spot and often gets pinched in the lower control arm (usually when its put on a lift). Check your cables and see if they are stuck. If they are stuck then they probably froze up your calipers. You may need to get 2 new calipers like I had too. If your pads are wearing uneven it could also be because the pins aren't moving freely. Check em out you may need to clean them regrease and get new boots. If your calipers froze bad the rotors are probably shot too.(scorged or warped). Just went through the whole brake prob. on a 96 maxima se I bought.

The rotors are fine. What kind of grease can I use on the pins? Will an all purpose grease be fine. I plan on picking some up anyway for my wheel studs so that they don't rust as easily.

Use hi-temp grease only. And don't grease your wheel studs! If they are rusty just hit em with a little WD-40!
