Which ignition wires to splice into for positive and negative?

I need to power a switch inside the car which I will put next to the cruise control. What are the wires on the steering column that I could splice for positive and negative.

Thank you!

This for 95-98 only:

12 VOLTS CONSTANT WHITE/VIOLET @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 1 BLACK/RED @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2 RED/YELLOW @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Loosten a bolt under there thats grounded and slip in a wire of your own, then retighten.

yup, be sure to use thick enough wire for the application and you should also use an inline fuse to be safe. What are you hooking up?

what are you wiring? I would not use the stock ignition wires for anything other than a remote starter or alarm. You should get power from the fuse box.

I am wiring yellow front markers which I want to come on whenever I turn keys in ON position. I am putting a switch in between to shut them off if I will also. I thought to get power from cigarette lighter, but ignition wires are physically much closer to the button.

Will appreciate any input!
