Switching to BOSE. Little help here<~

Hey people i just got a BOSE system, including all the AMPs, speakers and the Headunit. My question is, my car didn't have BOSE to start with. How do i go on placing the BOSE system. I have noticed that they are two extra wires to a speaker, red and black. Are these wires the power, meaning red is positive and black is negative. Can i just hard wire these wires from the battery. Let me know how to aproach this manner. Please give me some answers. Or anyone know a website on how to this. Thanks.

considering that most people are removing the problematic Bose system... you may have some fun ahead.... It might help if you know someone with Bose to look at the wiring in their car.... if the red is + and the black is - you could power them from the battery .... but the amps would stay on all the time killing your battery over time.. The basic idea of the Bose system is the amps make the music at the speaker and the head unit sends the signal to the amps...... just be aware that the amps are the reason most people replace the system... they die and are not cheap to replace... you can find used ones but who knows how long thay will last.... search for Bose repair on the internet and you will find a few sites

I THINK the amps (12V) run from an igniton fuse block.

my car has bose, and when one of the amps were broken, i replaced it, and next to the rear speakers were extra wiring harness for the stock speakers. you should have the harness for the bose system already in your car, if you take out your stock head unit, and there are more harness in there, then your in luck, cuz it will be just plug in play
