Brakes

Hey guys, baught my car like 1.5 montsh ago but I'm not sure when the previouse owner changed the brakes on my car. I have close to 40k miles, anywayz, when I press my brake pedal teh brake pedal itself feels kinda rough, not to mention some sort of rough braking/scraping noise only when applying my brakes. The braking distance itself seems normal, but maybe i need new pads????

Any input greatly appreciated.

*Just recently i noticed when i put my car in reverse and let go of the break on a small decline, i can hear my back caliper sounding as if its sticking to the rotor. This only happens till i hit the accelerator. I can't here this noise when i put the car in drive.

any help geratly appreciated

thankz again!

EDIT - i have a 98 if this helps..

I bet you could find out yourself if you jacked up the car, took off the wheel and actually inspected the brakes/pads.
