i've been manually shifting my autos for 2 years now. i've put down a good 50k on the tranny and it still holding strong. the reason i manually shift my auto is cuz i have more control over my car at varies speed. thus putting into the right gear helps me to stay in my powerband...also prevents me from fallin asleep while driving.
