I have a 95 gxe automatic max. Sunday I met with some people from a honda board (hondamod.com) and there was an integra ls there. Him and his buddy striped his interior completly. He only had one seat, the drivers seat. They also removed his muffler. He only had a little custom intake work done and a stick shift tranny. We never got to race for undetailed reasons. But I read on the board today that he said he would've smoked me easily if we had raced.

A 4 door Integra LS (newer body style)- custom intake vs.
1995 GXE automatic with a cone filter.

Who would win?

You would have killed him FatSacks! God damn police Back in Baltimore I raced my stock Maxima against a GSR with intake, headers, and full exhaust and he just beat me by like 1 car length on a long track. An LS won't be able to touch you, (if that's really all he has done). See if he'll go for pink slips

Something doesn't sound right. Most people would do all the mods under the hood before they gut out their interior.

assuming he just gutted the car, you'd probably still win... the LS's are dawgs... but like Green said, people don't generally just got the car without modding....

It wasn't like that. We had all planned to meet up and they were going to race. I was talking to the kid and he said they just took out all the interior last night just for today. They weren't racing for any money, so I don't think he was trying to hustle anyone, he just wanted a little extra weight advantage for the morning races. I asked him about everything, and he said he had some intake work done, and took the muffler off and all the seats just so he would have a slight advantage when racing daddyfatsacks. I didn't see any NOS tank, or think his car sounded modded at all. Point blank...Sacks would have sacked his ***!

no doubt

First of all, it's a 4 door LS, which makes it slower than any other integra for its generation. My GF has the 1.8L GS. No matter how hard I drive that car, I cannot beat my GF when she's in my Auto 99 SE. Even with a little intake work, pulling the muffler, and gutting the interior of the car, you will kill this teg!

The odd thing is, if the teg driver knows enough about cars to do intake, pull the muffler, and gut the interior, he should know that his car still doesn't stand a chance against the Max. He's not being forthright with you on his mods. I bet he's got something else going on under the hood and is using the interior gutting as a diversion. Maybe some NOS? You won't be able to hear it or detect it and he'll play you like it wasn't even there. Be careful.

He posts....

on the www.hondamod.com board. He says nitrous, headers, and an exhaust system are on his future mods list. He might have nos but if we race i'll be able to tell if he all of a sudden pulls on me, which he will Never, EVER, do without nos.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure I didn't have my stats confused. But this guy seriously thinks he can smoke me.

How is the LS the "ghetto version" and for the record im tired as hell of that term...it's stupid with that being said......

Don't sleep on the LS or the 95 Special Editions....those cars aren't as slow as you may think...especially in 5sp form...do a little homework or research on the 95 LS motor then you'll see why Honda boys are doin 3500.00 swaps for that motor...........

Ahh but the difference is, in a 2300lbs car the B18A/B motor will make it fast, but in a heavy 2600+lbs car, it's slow. I drove a 5 speed LS for a little while... it was rather slow mainly because of it's weight.

now, if you put that LS motor in my CRX, it's a WHOLE different story... considering the car weights lesst han 2300lbs with my in it...

Calm down dude. Daddy Sacks understood totally. I am from the "ghetto" and have seen how people try to hook up cars. I saw a guy with an Dodge Aries K painted gold with a ground effects kit he made from wood. I saw this in Coney Island where I grew up. Tacky!!!!!

Where are u located? My cuz have 95 Special edition and I tell you that car is not stock and will give a 3rd gen a helluva run for the money if not win...remember it's a 4 banger but the car hauls up top....it's o.k to disagree but ive been in the car when he raced a 2k max and he got left but not as nearly as bad as I thought

BTW im in chicago
so if anyone is near and wanna just play around with it be my guess....it's stock except for some stuff done to the airbox but nothing major...and maybe the GSR exhaust i think the Special Editions come with

We weren't generally comparing non-stock LS's to the max. We were getting a feel for the times of a stock LS, and then taking into concideration intake work, a pulled exhaust and an stripped interior. Those mods alone are not enough to beat the max if you have equall drivers.

I'm not saying that they're slow cars. They have great potential. As a matter of fact, the Teg had ruled it's class for a while, but it's old tech now. Even still, I believe that a Teg just recently dragged the second fastest FWD time ever at like 8.7 secs? Waite till the new 2002 model comes out. It is supposed to be 2.0L 200+ HP and I believe close to equal torque too. They've been hyping the handeling of the car too, which was supperior to even the type-R. I guess that's what they need to fend off the new Eclipse that is getting AWD and a SC, the new WRX, and the Celica, not to mention replace the prelude which they've canceled production on. I can't waite to drive it. I love the Teg.
