I have 95 gxe auto. Sometimes shifting to park when you stop is hard or does'nt seat properly.It onlyhappens intermittently but when it happens sometimes it does'nt start. It seems like the battery is dead or no cantact in the ignition...it doesnt turn when I try to start. To remedy this problem, I have to switch the ignition to ON and run the shifter to R.. D..1..2. AND BACK TO P AND IT starts with no problem or sometimes shift to Nuetral. Could it be the synchronizer or just an obstructed cable on the shifter. Thanks

neutral safety switch? im not sure where its mounted on the maxs' though. its just a switch so you cant start yoru car in any other gear than park or neutrual. maybe its hanging up? you can try pulling the console up, maybe theres a penny or something that fell down there in the way of the shifter?

thanks .I'll try doing the console first. How do I know wether its really the nuetral safety switch? What's the worst scnenarion of not fixing this?So far there's not much probelm starting as long as I put it in neutral. I'm just worried someday it won't start at all.
