I have the D2 coilovers installed on my car, I got the wheels aligned today and am all set. Its raining pretty hard so I cant really go out and play with the car and feel how it handles, but my impressions of it so far are good, I have a much better drop now and the car feels more planted yet not bouncy. I got the 7kg (front) , 5kg (rear) spring rates, so the ride isint that bad.

To each his own, I think they look extremely trick and very nice. And, who gives a damn what color they are, you can't see them once they're installed on the car anyway.

I don't know if they come in different colors, but the only photo I've seen of the D2s showed them as being BRIGHT PURPLE. I would never put something like that on my car. God.

The comfort and handling all depend on what you set the dampening to, I have my fronts and rears set at 3 full turns from softest setting, which should be in the middle. With this setting, it is MUCH MUCH MUCH stiffer than stock, and moderately stiffer than my eibach-tokicoblue setup. The D2s feel more solid than the Eibach/Tokico, but I still have more tuning and adjusting to do, not to mention I believe the springs still have to settle.
If you set them to a softer setting would they be softer than the eibachs? I'm looking for something like h-techs or tokico springs (I would get one of these with illumina's if I went with a conventional setup), but I would love to have the full suspension travel (and a bit lower wouldn't be bad either

I have not driven it with a softer setting, the weather today was total crap so I could not adjust anything or truly drive the car. Ill post it here when I get some results on different setups.
Only the bump and rebound are being adjusted with the ***** on coilovers such as these, this will have little effect on the stiffness of the suspension, the springs are what determine how stiff suspension is. The shocks determine how much oscillation is allowed after the springs undergo compression or expansion, and won't affect the stiffness much if at all.
If you want something so soft you'll have to go with a softer spring.

bump + rebound = dampening
bump is how the shock reacts to compression, rebound is how the shock reacts to expansion.
nothing on the teins is adjustable except the height.
spring stiffness is what determines how stiff your suspension is. that's why people complain about how stiff springs like the ground controls are. it's the spring that makes a ride harsh not the shock. the primarily controls oscillation which is bounciness. have you ever seen a car bouncing up and down as it goes down the road, it's because the shocks are blown and there is absolutely no dampening going on. if you could turn the dampening on a coilover system ALL the way down to zero, that's what would happen.
I understand that. But if the shock has very high dampening it will still add to the harshness. As an example: on my mountain bike you can adjust the front shock so it has lots of give (absorbs bumps well) or doesn't (acts more like a normal fork), and this is all the shock since there is no spring.

I am now running the fronts at 2 turns out from 0 (softest) and the rears still at 3 turns from softest . .the car still feels very planted while giving me a better ride. Note I am running the softer (yet still stiff) 7kgF/5kgR , not the 9kg/7kg that is 'suggested'.
