I need to replace my starter. Kragen has 2 different starters 1st production and 2nd production but only have the 1st production in stock. Autozone and Pepboys didn't ask which one I needed and Autozone only lists one on their website. Does it matter or will either work?

If it does matter is there a way to tell which one the car has before I take it out? I'm changing it on Saturday and I want to avoid waiting to the last minute to look for the starter.
