What could this be?

I have a 1996 Maxima SE 5spd 130,000 miles- when I put the car in gear and accelerate I get a weird sort of wrapping sound in the front end, but when I take the car out of gear or engage the clutch it goes away, but I get this sound while decelerating too when the engine is engaged. Any idea's?

u got a 5spd sounds like the diff. bearing inside ur tranny had the same probelm take to a mechanic and check it out. tranny rebuilt will run u 800-1200. or get a used tranny if it is the tranny bearing problem

I'd hate to think its the dif. bearing, because my tranny has a TON of miles 130K, i thought this popped up at like 60K? Comments anyone?

Thanks guys, I narrowed it down to the tranny, I'll be dropping it off monday for a rebuild and then next weekend the supercharger goes in.
