hi ya all,

I have 97,5speed,53k miles, maxima with no modifications at all. I have been reading post on this forum and it seems as if you guys have done some serious mods to your maxima, however i might not be able to do all that, looking at my pocket size.

However i'm interested in knowing about useful, necessary and life improving modifications to my maxima. Plz keep in mind that i'm not a big racing guy but definitely interested in improving the ride and life of my sweet maxima.

Thanks ya all who give me good suggestions.

well you can do some ssuspension mods or you can go for a little performance.... and of course cosmetics

Lowering the maxima should be the first on your to do list, beside the clear bumper lenses. Go for either Eibach/tokico(firm ride) or H&R/tokico(softest ride) setup along with a fstb and rear sway bar. That will drop the max nicely and give you a really sporty ride. Plus having the fstb and rsb on you will hug turns with no problem. Then you might wanna go with some new tires as well to get better grip.

For performance i reccomend the Place racing Cold air intake
www.placeracing.com IMHO its the best intake for the max yet! If the funds are still availible get a cat-back exhaust, Greddy makes a nice one but for around $600ish and Apex makes a new cat back for about $325 both in polished stainless steel.

Im sure anybody here can easily add to this small list of mods to help make your maxima that much better.

E-mail me if you have any other questions,
Anthony

Most useful in my opinion are the front strut tower brace (FSTB) and the rear sway bar (RSB).

For less than $200 (if you shop around), you can make your car handle a lot better even with stock suspension and rims/tires.

Go with the FSTB and RSB my man. You won't be dissapointed. if you're lookin for speed, get an intake and y-pipe.

since your not a real big racing guy, i think you should get some clear corners for looks or get some good tires. IMO, tires are one of the best things. i always thought.. I/H/E for whatever car but after feeling the ride differences on my sisters car, stock tires compared to 150 tires, there is a huge difference. i dunno though, it really depends on what your interested in.

Keep in mind that a lot of times you can get stuff used. I've been able to get a lot more for my money by being patient and watching the For Sale forum.

I agree with what has been said so far, especially the FSTB. It was the last thing I did, but it should have been the first. A lot of times I wish I had bought an RSB instead of a y-pipe, but the roads here are all straight, so I don't lose sleep over it.

One thing that has been left out is brakes. One of my best bang for the buck mods was getting Porterfield brake pads and changing to synthetic fluid. Less than $150, and the car stops a LOT quicker.
