Stock CD PLayer skips/ticks, is it shot?

I have a 99 Maxima with a stock radio/cd player. Lately I will play a CD and hear a constant "ticking" sound along with the music. I know it's not the CD because I just bought 3 new cds and they all do this.

So, is there a way to clean the CD player? Or do I need to buy a whole new radio? Comments or advice is highly appreicated. Thanks!

i suggest you get an aftermarket deck w/ the bose adapter and you should be set.

I had the same problem, and eventually it stopped reading CDs.

try a can of compressed air, DO NOT shake the can before you spray it, and spray it on your finger to make sure thers no moisture otherwise itll coat the lens.
