Full Line Pressure

Today I disconnected the wires to the drop resistor and noticed it cut about .2 seconds off my 1/4 mile (I drive an autotragic lol.) It really slams into gear now and i Is it alright to drive around all the time like this? Just wondering if the full line pressure is bad for the tranny...

yeah its b ad for the tranny, real bad at anything but WOT, read the How-tos and make a WOT switch, your not doing your tranny a favor by cruising around with DR wires clipped

I guess chuck and i will have to wire up the switch, it seemed to shift more abruptly when i wasnt on the gas and less a WOT. The switch should not be that hard to do. Honestly i thought this mod would have been more affective but still all we did was unplug the resister and plug it back in (matter of seconds)

if you want quick shifts all the time, get the VB mod. its safer than the DR mod and actually lengthens the life of your tranny.

yeah dont do them both. They both essentially accomplish the same thing, the VB just does it with no ill effects.

i thought the valve body allows for more fluid, and the other mod allows for full line pressure.

Not exactly the same thing. There is a difference between the VB mod and using the DR mod. Full line pressure is ALOT different that what the VB mod does.

And while the VB mod has no ill effects, the DR mod has no ill effects either when used properly. People always seem to look over this, or they just haven't used the DR mod before and are speaking out of place. Jime can back me up on this. You have to be pretty stupid to mess up your car with the DR mod. I've been running mine for over 10,000 miles on a pretty high mileage tranny (193,XXX and counting) and no signs of tranny failure yet.

maybe you didnt understand his post. no one said it was harmful when used properly, he is wanting to use it all the time, not just at WOT. the DR mod should only be used at WOT or you could harm the tranny.

Look you should only run the DR MOD in WOT... Never part shift, and what i mean is don't just cruise around while it shifts hard. Jime also states only to use at full Throttle. He even has a swtich wired when it is at wot. So it automatically shifts hard. I have my swtich wired, I only use it @ WOT. Mainly used for when I spray so I don't slip into gear.
Jime, before he knew about the DR MOD. Went thru 2 trannys.... Now he has had no problems... Meaning the hardest shifts are when your car is going from 1st thru sec and sec thru third...
