Help Needed! Fast!

Okay...well I've about 2 hours before I need to get out of here for the homecoming dance. Couple days ago my head unit died. Its a Pioneer Premiere DEH-8500MP...so known to have problems. Anyway, I went out and picked up a nice JVC replacement to hold me untill my pioneer was fixed again.. I wired it up today. I hooked everything up...and my ignition wire doesnt work? I know my other headunit was toast ( plugged it into another 12v power supply to be sure ) okay, so ignition wire doenst work. So I throw the ignition wire on the 12v lead that the head unit uses for power. Any problem in this? Must be...now my car seems to have enough power to run all electrical but it will only crank like 3 times and then die. Also, if head unit is above a certain volume it cuts out. I know its just that Im running those two wires off the same source, but...any help with how I can fix my ignition wire....or another power source I can use for the igniton wire to the head unit? Thanks...kinda need this quick so I can get to the dance!
