Power Slot Rotors?
Power Slot Rotors?
ive been searching for some new rotors and im thinking i might go with these, i read some things about them being very good.... anyone here have them? How are they? How long they last any1 knew? How about the warp? I would love some pics of them on ur car also. I'm thinking of buying them of ebay since they have a good price there, any1 know of any place cheaper? also will these make noise? What rotors do you reccomend? I really dont want loud rotors squeeking... srry if im asking for to much lol
Welcome to the world of rotors and brake pads. There are tons of them out there. I have heard many good things about Power Slot Rotors as well. Right now I am running SP Preformance Diamond & Slot Cut Rotors. These are just Brembo Blanks cut w/ SP Pref. design. I chose these because they have a dimpled pattern that mocks a cross drill plus the slotting. So I get the benefits of cross drilling w/out the disadvantage of cross drilling. Cross drilled rotors have been known to crack around the holes, so stay away from cross drilling IMO. Be prepared for some braking noise w/slotted rotors. When you get on them, they will make a humming noise. The noise doesnt bother me at all. After you get set up with the rotors of your choice, dont skimp on the pads. Pad is where you will get that god awful sqeak from. I am currently using Axxis Ultimates which I like thus far. They are not squeaky, ok maybe a very little bit when completing a stop, but not annoying. People on the .org seem to like the Hawk Green pads and Raybestos Quiet Stop. Just try to get some Ceramic Pads to go with your new rotors. Another fix for sqeaky pads is to bevel the edges. This is your pad [ ]. You want to sand/file down the ends [ and ]. This will create a ramping affect for your pads to engage with the rotor. Just dont go hog wild when doing this and you will be fine. Try to think of a mirror or a piece of glass with beveled edges. Good luck!

I say go with a cross drilled rotor. I have xdrilled/slotted and theyve been good rotors. But I think youd have a better chance of being able to turn the x drilled ones. With slotted, no one will even attempt to turn them.
As far as cracking goes, it is true. Some cheap x drilled rotors do crack from heat.
I have Irotors and have had no issues.
As far as pads go, when I did my setup i researched pads for a while, and found that the Axxis pads are nice, as are some others but they eat the rotor up quicker and produce more brake dust.
I didnt feel like eating my new rotors up real quick so I stayed with dealer pads and they have worked fine for me.
Here is a pic of my rotors with my old wheel set up.

I have the exact same but with slotted/dimpled. MUCH better than stock...I haven't noticed any brake fade yet at all, even after some close calls.
