Flasher Location For Maxima 1995

My turn lights and hazard lights click a couple of times and go out.I am
guessing the flasher is close to dying. Could someone please tell me where
the flasher is located for the maxima 1995. Any other advise would be
greatly appreciated.

Flasher is right under the steering wheel - near where your knees are... listen for the clicking sound while it works - should find it pretty easily. The part runs 20 bucks or so from Nissan.

Welcome to the org.

Do i have to open anything to get to the flasher. Or is it in the direction of the knees under the dashboard and is accessible without opening anything. Thanks for you prompt reply.

Exactly as you describe - right under the dashboard near the right knee... should not have to open anything to get to it.

Thanks alot njmodi,

I got to the flasher. I took the plug going to the black box(prob the flasher). Now the problem is i cant get that black box off. Do i need to take it out or just leave it there and just hook the new flasher to the wire/plug and tape it to the one mounted under the wheel. I think taping it would be easier. If you think the flasher can come out easily then could you please give me some details on how to pull it out. Just was scared i mite break something.

Another thing Nissan told me that the flasher is for 60 bucks Canadian. I called some other store which sells car parts and they told me its for 10 bucks. Could you advise me if i should go ahead with the 10 bucks one. I think there is somethin else besides the flasher as when i give the right signal the sidelight (next to the headlight) comes on as well but this does not happen on the left turn. Hence i want to try first if it is the flasher that is messed up or is it the wiring.

Thanks alot for all your help its greatly appreciated.

I have never taken the flasher relay out - so I can't help you with how to removei t. The reason the turn-assist-light (or whatever its called) isn't working on the left side is probably just a blown bulb on that side.

I don't think you have to get a genuine nissan part - so as long as the local store says the part will fit just use the aftermarket one...

Thanks njmodi everything looks good with the turnlight.

Just had a few more questions.

My engine light is on and i was told by the mechanic that the oxygen sensor is dead. How critical is getting that done.

Secondly, my left wheel is making a "tuck, tuck tuck" kindda noise. I was told that i need to replace the mount and the bearings for the strut on the left wheel. He suggested that i should replace it on both sides in the front, but said its up to me as it should be fine if i just replace the left one. Just needed your advice on that. Thanks again. You have been great.
