Do the brackets that mount to the trailing arms fit in front or in back of the e-brake mounting brackets? If I mount them in front (i.e. toward the front of the car) then the bushing will be at the VERY tip of the sway bar, with like 0" sticking out from the bushing. With them mounted behind, then 3" of the bar will be sticking out, which seems like too much. The instructions said 1" from the end. Also, if I understand correctly, the more bar that sticks out past the bushing, the firmer the setting, and it's arguably already too firm.

At the moment, the e-brake brackets are directly on top of, and zip-tied to, the RSB brackets.

This just seems weird. Maybe the location of the bracket on the e-brake cables is not consistant from one car or one year to another? Or Progress started making their bars an inch shorter or longer than before? Neither of these seem all that likely.

It's no big deal, it just bugs me when something doesn't seem to fit right. It makes me wonder if I have it installed correctly, but in this case, I don't know how a person could even install it wrong. It's not like there is more than one place to mount it. The only question is whether to mount the brackets an inch or three one way or the other.

 

don't worry about ur e-brake...just remove the zip-tie, install ur RSB bracket over it...

 

My apologies for being dense, but I don't understand what you mean by installing the RSB bracket over (on top of?) the e-brake bracket. At the moment, the e-brake bracket is right on top of the RSB bracket, i.e. they both want to occupy exactly the same spot on the control arm. Obviously I don't want to crush the brake cable, so the cable has to go on top of the RSB bracket. I thought of drilling and tapping a hole in the RSB bracket for the brake cable, but it's not likely to GO anywhere, so just zip-tying it in place seemed the expedient way to prevent it from vibrating or flopping around.

I know that a picture would be handy...

 

I've got the same exact thing going on with the Progress/Cattman bar I installed last weekend. I put the RSB brackets in front of the e-brake bracket for now, but I'm not sure what to do about there not being any bar sticking past the RSB bushings when it's up there. Maybe I'll disconnect it and do what you did with the zip-tie later today. I'm interested to hear what you figure out about this . . .
