Taking care of a Carbonfiber Hood

What should I do to take care of a carbonfiber hood? I wanna make sure it stays clean and keeps a shine. Is there anything I should use on it to keep the clear coat good? Please respond.

I just polish it and wax it like regular hood.

personally I would sell that cf hood and get my money back if it was me. You can buy parts that will give your car much better performance for that price. Besides, a hood painted dark grey looks like cf from anywhere farther than 2 feet away.

just my 2 cents

LOL then it would just look like you got in a minor accident and are too broke to pay to have you stuff fixed, so you have to drive around with a multi-colored car.

Ehh ... if I buy any "special" hood, its going to be a fiber glass one << clear baby >>

But I have only seen one maxima with one, and I am still hunting for one.
If anyone ever sees one ... lemme know.

Everyone wants to be a comedian...

Just wash and wax like a regular hood, be careful if you take it to car washes though. Those brushes will leave alot of swirl marks...

Keep the hood out of the sun if possible, especially in the summer. Best to store it in a garage if avail.

Just take off your hood and wrap up some Saran Wrap from fender to fender

i waxed mine every 2 weeks. and i did about 6 coats each time, kept it from ever getting scratched and such. good thing was someone egged my car and all the wax protected my paint and my hood. thank goodness.

Where did you get your CF hood at and how much?
Anyone suggest a certain company?

1. Keep it out of the sun, especially on friggen hot days.
2. Try to wash the car every week or so to avoid dirt blemishes.
3. Wax it every so often to keep that extra coat of protect on it.
***4. Whenever you get (bird)shiit on the hood wash it off immediately.*** VERY IMPORTANT
