v8 idle - problem

Today when it was foggy i started my car and it seemed liek it had a very lumpy idle. AS i drove it for the first minute the car was sorta jery or sputtury with decent power but it shook and vibrated. It stop instantly one mintue after.

My car has many miles but this happens when it's real cold out, or the car's been sitting for a while ( more than a week) to me that means the plugs got a little wet, so the symptom is similar to a misfire, usually goes away within a minute or so.

waverider,

It still does it even after I replaced my MAF. BTW, how's the new tranny, have you got to the track lately?

I get this too. Mine happens when the engine is still cold. I'm talking normal fall conditions, like 40 degrees. It does it for the first time I accelerate. I let off the gas and it begins to idle fine. Getting back on the gas after letting off produces normal acceleration. WTF? Its only happened very recently and not every time I do a cold start.

Mine started when I had about 145k, and now I have 224k, sometimes yes, sometimes no... I guess the car has character. . .

Mine does it when its cold out. If you warm up the car a little and drive it normaly until its fully warmed up, you wont have a problem. Also if the car has been sitting for a while it will do it for a min but i think thats normal. could be wrong though.
