I finally got my rims, and the stocks are taking up too much space. I live in a apartment, so I can use all the space I can get. I WANNA CHUCK EM!......but I don't know if I should. For all of you with aftermarket rims......What did you do with your stocks??? All input greatly apprecaited

I just keep them in my garage and use them for winter...much better getting them scatched up/salted on then your beautiful new rims Plus it has better tires for slippery condition then my new Z rated tires. Then again not sure if you have winter problem in your area or not.

 

A garage would be perfect, but unfortunately I live in a apartment, and those 15's are taking UP MAJOR SPACE. I live in NC so the winters "usually" aren't that bad.

 

You can try and sell them on ebay. I saw a set of stock 96 rims going for around 300 dollars.

 

The tire tread on em aren't too hot. I doubt anyone would want them in that shape.....unless your really just talking about the rim itself. Is that what YOu mean?

 

Which style of 15" wheels? The SE, GLE, or steel wheels?

If the price is right, I will buy them.

Don't chuck them. You can get $ out of them and if the price is right I will buy them. I am looking for some factory aluminum 15" maxima wheels to use in the winter. I just can't get myself to put those ugly steel wheels and hubcaps back on the car even it if is only for the winter.

Hey DAN!! Didn't you just give me the cool idea of selling two, using one for a spare and hiding the fourth under my Bed? Im afraid that piece of advice was too good to pass up. I know of one max owner who actually is missing his spare tire. Im sure he'll put up about 25 bucks for one of em. I'll keep one for my spare, and then I'll look at anyone else I know driving a 5 lug 15'car and see if they'll bite....he...he...he...Anyone know if a Camry or Accord could fit one of these. I know two people who own these cars and (just my luck) the one with the accord is also missing a spare.....MAN! DAN, You DA MAN!!

 

i have 96 se rim rims for sale i am only asking for 250 with brand new tires on them only 500 miles on the tires

 

Late model Camry (4 and V6) and Accord (V6) have a bolt pattern of 5 holes on a 4.5" circle (same as our 4Gen Maxima) but I think the big center hole is different, and that dimension is important. My Hayes Lemmerz wheel catalog doesn't tell the center hole size so it is useless as an interchange reference.

I've been looking for an online wheel interchange reference, with no luck so far. If any Maxima.org member knows of one, please post the link.

 

I sold my OEM 15 inch wheels and tires on ebay. They had about 35k miles on them but still in good shape.

Got $320 for them...not bad for stuff I won't use anymore and which were taking up too much space in my apartment.

If I wanted to get top dollar for my merchandise, I'd definately try this E-bay idea, however, as I said earlier, the wheels aren't in to great a shape...well two of em. I can't see myself dump'n em off on someone else for that much money, especially in the condition there in. I think sell'n em as full size spares would be more practical and useful to the purchaser. A spare really doesn't need to be in tip top if you know what I mean. Making as little as 25 bucks per wheel ain't too bad for something I was originally thinking of 86'n for nothing at all.

 

If you are willing to go pickup his old wheels, how about coming over and changing my fuel filter? I mean KY isn't that far away. I was planning on changing it this weekend. I can wait if you will take a nice grilled steak in exhange. j/k

 

you could use two of them to make the base for a coffee table; just put a piece of plywood over them and put a table cloth over it.

what happens when you get rid of the spares and you damage one of your nice ones. you'll need a second spare...

find a place to keep at least two of them bc u just never know when u might need them again.

Dumb question time. Has anyone actually taken out the 'donut' and replaced it with their original rim? BTW, if you have any closet space, the fit their perfectly, and don't touch any of my shirts either.

I did. I do a lot of distance trips, and I just don't trust those spacesaver spares. The full-size fits in the hole, but the retainer bolt won't fit and the cover doesn't lay flat. After a few trips where I loaded up the trunk to full capacity the wood has deformed enough so that it isn't a problem anymore.
