Since the weather is getting a bit colder, seems like my car is having a hard time starting up on the first try without pressing on the gas pedal.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Haven't changed my fuel filter yet as part of my 60k Tune-up.

I usually like hearin my baby startup and stay alive after the first turn of the key but it seems much harder to do this since weather got cold. Last night I had to start it probably 3 or 4 times before it was stable... WTF..

 

It could be a few things....

Test the crank position sensors
Probly want to change that fuel filter
Clean TB
Ignition switch (this was the problem for me)

 

adjust idle air control valve (IACV)

 

do you have a remote starter?

 

don't have a remote starter but plannin on gettin one.

hmm this problem might be a BIG one if i'm going to get a remote starter put in huh... Sh*T...

How do u adjust the IACV?

 

1. Clean the TB and IACV
2. Replace the ECTS

Those 2 mostly affect idling upon startup - and the ECTS plays an important role in controlling fuel delivery during cold/hot starts.
