Stearing Wheel Vibration

When i'm on the hiway doing between 50-80MPH I get a REALLY BAD vibration in the stearing wheel, actually the whole car shakes! I replace my front axel, and i have stock steal wheels. Also stearing wheel is very loose. What could the problem be?

the steering is always loose, did you try wheel balancing and an alignment? you should give those a shot before anything else, its possible that your rim is bent.

hvae you hit a curb or hit something, otherwise they shouldnt be bent. if you have alloy wheels, i dont think they can be bent back, or you have to goto someone who specializes in alloy bending. give the wheel balancing a shot, get an opinoin from another mechanic.

work your way inside to out

Just a word of advice: as someone who has experienced a number of issues with alignment, balancing etc. I would first look at things like worn out control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, end link bushings BEFORE getting an alignment and wheel balance done. That way, you can save yourself from having to get additional alignments done if you need to replace any of those other items, which tends to be the case. If any of the control arm bushings are worn, I recommend that you replace them with Energy Suspension bushings. They will defintely tighten things up, and will last much longer.

Mine had a little shaking while driving ~80MPH. You'll only notice it on the HW. Most of the time, i'm driving local, it wouldn't bother me. I am driving on a pot hole city. Not matter how many alignment or balancing I perform on my car, it would not helped. All I need is a set of strong rims, (honeycomb) and i'm set. Every block or highway I drive on has pot holes. I have driven over small ones and one foot wide ones. Thank god nothing happens. If I get it alignment today, a month later. Is go back to be the same. In conclusion (city life) ~ PointLESS
