Check Engine light still on
Check Engine light still on
My check engine light came on the other day. I went to three places to have them read the codes and they said mine isn't obx II. They said 96-99 is and I own a 1995. I posted something on here and someone said that it is on the passenger side on the left. Well I check and it isn't. Do I have to go to a nissan dealership to find out what is wrong with my car? If anyone knows what to do please post.
first of all, it's OBD not OBX...lol
and yes, 95 is OBD I. 96 and up are OBD II.
and no, u don't need to go to the stealership and have them charge you $100 for decoding. here are the instructions to find out exactly what the check engine light >> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=104931
it also provides the description and solution to your check engine light. try to decode it first then report back to the org.
hope this help

Better get your flame gear on...
Check and diagnose the codes yourself, it's really easy...

When you say "it" I assume you mean the screw that you turn to get the code? If you do, whoever told you that was exactly wrong; it's actually on the drivers side to the right, next to your accelerator pedal.
(by the way, read the stickies, they help)
