budget b-pipe fitment

i like how the budget b-pipe is all one piece with flanges on both ends... i am going to get this, and try out different axle backs so i could bolt everything on myself...

does anyone have the budget b-pipe (im sure someone does) but will it tuck underneath the body in the provided space or are there fitment issues? i have issues with my WSP one now that i had got worked out...

i really want to do this setup, that way i can not only do it myself, but have the ability to change different axle-back setups in the future when i want to...

will the b-pipe bolt up to any rear section i put on?

with the pipe, id probably get a stillen rear section, i know its straight through design, but the pipe will be resonated so does anyone have that setup?

this should be direct bolt on with not fitment issues right cuz i DONT want a shop to have to cut, weld, or anything that i cant do to my new pipe like they did to my crappy wsp one...

thanks guys

this was the picture provided with the 97-99 b-pipe...

i didnt really see my stock exhaust so i dont know if that one is from a maxima...

are there flanges on both of the pieces like so:

that is cattmans for the 5th generation, i wouldn't mind two pieces if they were like that... i just dont want them to slip inside each other, i just want flanges... i guess im too picky...

btw slammed95, do you have any pics of your car with those rpf1s from a distance? there is none on your site... i pm'd you but you never wrote back...

oh wouldn't do it otherwise... thats cool, all i will have to worry about is 4 bolts...

what rear section would you choose out of stillen and cattmans... relatively same price... which one is quieter?

Hey, good luck with the install. Here's a pic, courtesy of BlackCat of the most recent version of the SS Resonated (Magnaflow) Budget B - Pipe with crush gaskets and bolts. Daniel's pic was so good I didn't bother taking a picture of mine which I installed two weeks ago:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=345057 (Post#4?)

They make it in two sections in case you purchase the unresonated version and change your mind. That way you just need to order the resonator, bolt-it-on and off you go. Two tips for you: 1. Those cat-bolts are a pain in the a$$ to get off. Don't shear the head off like I did! 2. To prevent clanking, you can either take the metal B pipe hanger off or wrap it with exhaust wrap.

i already have a f'ed up catback on now due to meineki so the bolts are rather freshly put on... im excited that fitment was perfect... i dont want to have to take it to an exhaust shop to cut it all up like the one i have now...

but umm... im confused... the 97-99 bumper is 1 inch longer... so is the b-pipe the part that has to be stretched or the rear section?

Sorry, this was a hot topic on a Canadian forum that needed to be cleared up. As long as you specify what year of Maxima when you order (to Jody) you should get the right one. BlackCat has a '98 like you and I have a '96. Both fitments were excellent.

if the b-pipes are different, then wouldn't this mean all axle-back mufflers are the same? but yet some are made for only specific years... ?

oh, so all b-pipes are the same in general length, i knew about the bung...

so its really up to the axle-back mufflers and what years they are specified to fit that deteremines how much the tip will stick out?

for instance, (forget diameter, and quality) the stillen, cattman, and budget pipes are all the same length? and then you'd just buy a rear section that is made for your year of maxima...

right?

correct me if i'm wrong. WS b-pipe comes with a muffler for $250 (not SS). budget b-pipe w/o a muffler costs nearly $300 (SS).

The Budget B-pipe price is $260 Cdn.

I'll be putting it in tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to hearing what this sounds like with the stock muffler.
