What weekened war I had!

5:30 in the morning minding my own business cruising at 85 on route 684 going north. Just before dawn. I notice there's a car flanking me in my right rear. Hmmm. wonder how long he's been there almost out of sight. So, I gently pick up the pace. He matches me. I'm like OK, you wanna shadow me, let's GO. I downshift to 4th and punch it, I immediately gain 2 car lengths on him and finally get to see that it's and audi A6. The speeds start to really climb. The 2 car length slowly strecthes to 3. Being a bit paranoid, I slow down whenerver coming aorund a corner, If I'm going to be busted by 5.0, I don't want it to be at 120 MPH! During those times, he gets a chance to catch up. ANyways, the road straightens out and I punch it. Get 2 car lengths this time, but no more. On wide sweeping bends, I gather that his tires aren't as grippy as mine, he always gently goes wide. This clues me in and suggests he's an A6 2.8. the 4.2s had bigger tread. SO suffice to say we went all the way up 684 amd he never passed me, and I always got 1 or 2 car lentghs on him. It was a good battle. It went all the way up to 140 at times. At the end of 684, he exited to connecticut and I went Pouhkeepsie bound. We flashed each other and it was done.

Later on that day coming back on 84, I blast out of a toll booth, trying to get away from all these slo poke vehicles and cars and such. Next thing I know, I see an Acura CL on my ****. Type S or not?? Don't know. He wants me. I'm like, OK, let's go, this will be good. Again I downshift to 4th, I always seem to be meeting these guys at hiway speeds, and gain a car length on him, but no more. we go very hard. up to 130. I think he's not as confident as I am in the corners, and that may be why I led. Anyway, on a large staright away, he comes up on me and PASSES. Bastard. It was a CL type S. He gained 2 car lengths on me and I chased him HARD. My needle was buried past 140 and he kept the 2 car lengths. When there was a corner, I caught up, but not for long. In the end, we stopped the insanity, he won, it was all good.

Thinking about it later I wonder, they both had stock 16 wheels whereas I had 17s. I wonder how it would have been if I had 16s. I figure that my CAI would boost my power and the 17s because of greater weight wuld take some of that away. I don't mind. The 17s make me feel rock solid confident at speed, and that matters most to me.

Maybe, but I think YOUR ENGINE would have really helped me a WHOLE lot
The 5th gen VQ addressed the top end weakness of my 4th gen VQ. Oh well. I still luv my baby.

Hey dwapenyi, do you have any pics of your car? I have the Advanti Racing Turismos also, and was wondering what they look like on your car.

CL-S's run 14.8-14.9 stock and I was dead even with one to 60, gained half a length shortly after, he then caught up and gained half a length by 120, then after that I pulled hard.

I have pics, but I've been too lazy to publish them. Once I do, I'll let you know.
