Some cars DO have more than one spark per cylinder. Nissan did it with their Stanza wagon.

But they do have glow plugs. If I'm not mistaken glow plugs just ignite the F/A ratio it's really cold and by the time it warms up the mixture ignites itself from the high compression created in diesel engines.

You should read all the stickies on top. They have a lot of info. You can do it yourself, and since its your first time, it will take a bit longer.

Also get a hanes manual for the maxima. They are not the best, but may come in handy when you need something simple done and are not sure about how to do it
