Shaking when revving at high speeds

I was driving on the interstate with the cruise set at about 80. I had to slow down to 75, and then later turned the cruise back on. The car had to rev really high to go up 5 mph, but in doing so, the car wasn't shifting right and began to shake and the CEL flashed. Could this be a tranny problem? Maybe it's coil pack related? Any guesses? TIA

most likely coil pack / injectors, flashing cel means multiple cylinder misfire. check your 1999 coils and replace them if not done so. next do the flat head check on the injectors.

That's what I thought. But I had the coils checked by Midas and the local dealer and they both said they're fine. One suggestion was the AAC Valve (if that's what it's called), someone said a bad fuel filter, and I forget what else. If it's not the coils, what is it?

yeah i know '99's are known for bad coils. but like i said, Midas AND the DEALER said they're fine. and i'm not gonna pay another $125 to the dealer just to look at them. there's gotta be something else that would do that.

My friend had to have all of his coils replaced on his 2000 GXE, because they had all but crapped out on him. So it appears that it is not just a problem with the '99s.

Do you mean the IAC valve?? If so, I definitely can't see this being the problem.

Yeah I probably mean the IAC, and not AAC, valve. I don't know enough about mechanical work. I've had this shaking problem while idling at stop lights and high RPM's at speeds over 60 mph for over a year now. I know this sounds like a coil pack issue, but apparently it isn't. I had them checked no more than a month ago.
