$400 TS ECU.....worth it?

I've been debating on whether or not to get this thing since I'll be saving $200. People that have this ecu without the mevi, what can you compare the added power to?

Would you say the power gain is similar to the gain of a ypipe on a stock 5speed max? more?

I just want an idea because if it's not worth it, I don't want to waste my $$. So far I just have an intake and a ypipe and they added nice power over stock.

I trap 93.8mph now. What should I expect to trap with the addition of the Technosquare ECU?

i really want to get this chip also, but dont have enough money to get both chip and mevi. will chip alone make a difference with intake, ypipe cat-back exhaust?

If you're talking about the dyno plot it looks like he had a mevi. He took one dyno with it open and another with it closed.

get chip now, mevi later. You will always find a mevi some way some how, this chip is on a sick price sale, either this or jwt which also has a group deal running i believe but the last thing u want to do is have a mevi without ecu. it sucks

I'd still get the ECU anyway, it's a great mod despite the bogus dyno.

The VI alone isnt worth it. The chip is though. Well worth the money. Any nicely chipped car will show great improvements. Put the 2 together and yea, its a good combo.

I wouldnt say the VI alone isnt worth it, but definitely a combo of ECU and VI is pretty hard to beat

What is so BS about it? It looks like your typical 4th gen dyno (without MEVI)... Maybe the two of you need to re-examine...

A reprogrammed ECU is definitely worth it. Much more so if you have an MEVI. Best yet, if you get a junk yard ecu, you can always resell the thing and retain some value.

VI sucks for street/drag racing, only good for highway. I definitely felt a decrease in power in low end, but its nto as serious as it sounds.

Do a search on JWT vs TS, they give roughly same power, i think one or the other focuses more on a tad bit more high end while the other has a little mroe low end. Something like that. But no mroe than 2 hp difference between the two

without the VI the drop off is steeper after 5500, our power peak is not at 7000k rpm, but it remains stronger with the VI

That's not true at all. From a dead stop the acceleration with a VI is ok. Running a highway race, if the revs drop below 5000, you're playing catchup. Above 5000, the car pulls nicely.

Yes, it's true. They are offering the 7000 limit and if you want it higher, you'll need to specify it to them.

Get the upgrade; it's a great price for a great mod. You feel more power throughout the powerband.

Cool!

I need to get this thing asap. That is after I get a new trans My trans has been suffering from the bad bearing problem for over 20k miles and it finally coming to an end.

I think I'll just order it with the extended rev limit incase I ever want to get a mevi. Until I do I'll just keep the revs under 6,500 cause there really isn't much power up there with the stock manifold anyway.

thanks for all the replies. This definitely made up my mind!

Well the dyno looks like MEVI dyno where the guy said it was just basic mods, a MEVI is not a basic mod. If it was dyno without a mevi the tq and hp would DRAMATICALLY fall after like 5500RPM where this dyno it just falls a little.

That dosen't look like a VI dyno, the dyno above drops off at least 15hps almost 20hp. A vi dyno would show a more flat dyno if not a little upward curve near redline after 5500rpm. How do I know? because I have one, and so does my friend. We both have identical powerband and graph...
ANd if that is a dyno of a max with VI, then it wouldnt do us any good to have it because it curves down near redline, so if we were to extend that redline to 7krpm or 7.2k this dyno would show us making next to nothing in power. So the dyno above cannot be with VI.

I wish I woulda found out about the TS rev limiter earlier becuase I already paid for a JWt 7k redline ecu and in the process of selling my TS ecu. Dam! This woulda saved me some $$$, owell... I definately recommend getting this mod.
