well, as some might remember, my fathers 97 5speed had the "check engine" light come on followed by stalling out. Some said it was driving too hard and others suggested checking the computer and posted a link but my thread has since disappeared. Anyways, where can i go for instuctions on doing the check? Took it into Nissan and they claimed it was the cruise control module and fixed it. Well it broke a few days later, same damn thing. So we took it back and the same thing happened again, and then they found the cause. The Speed-O-meter (not the speedometer, something behind it) was bad and that caused the cruise control to go bad. We also had the 60K maintenance done, and less than a week later, damn "check engine" light comes back on. Turns out the O2 sensors were bad. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that part of the 60K maintenance?!?! It is on Z's. Why the hell didn't they do this?? We've forked out over a grand on this crap and quite frankly, I'm not too sure that the car won't break down or have that damn light come on again. So any links would be appreciated. By the way, how come it isn't in the "shop talk" or "MAXFAQS" section?? Seems like a common thing.

Consider yourself corrected. Replacing Oxygen Sensors is not part of any scheduled maintenance procedure on the Maxima. You replace the sensor when it goes bad.

Your post makes you sound sour on the Maxima. If Nissan has failed to earn your trust, dump the Maxima and buy an Accord or Camry.

First off, Thanks to eveyone. Second, its not that i'm sour on my Maxima, I'm sour on the sevice provided to me by my local Nissan dealership, which from what I hear over at TwinTurbo.net, isn't an uncommon thing.
