Deezo is an *******!!

i recently tried to post a thread about an "aftermarket ECU question" in it i was asking what the difference was between the JET ecu compared to the TS/JWT.. i have always heard ppl say that the JET is a piece of crap but never knew what exactly was wrong with them compared to the TS/JWT.. well it was posted for a day... and no one answered.. and then he got on there told me to "keep it in one thread" when there was only one other ecu thread goin at the time and NO where in it did it compare the JET to the TS/JWT.. so i pm'd him asking why he closed down my thread and what he meant by "keep it in one thread" he pm'd me back saying that "its in the stickies, and we dont need a million questions about one topic" and "if you dont like the way i run the forum then you can leave" i mean how ****ed up is that.. so give me an attitude when all i was doing was asking for help!?!? and then never even answered my question.. i mean first of all arent the moderators suppost to be the knowledgable/helpful ppl on here.. so when he saw my thread and saw i was a newbie.. then "I" would think he would have 1) let me know it was in the stickies.. or 2) maybe even replied with the link to where i could find it in the stickies.. or 3) would have even been nice enough to answer my question before cutting me off.. instead he just closes my thread and NEVER helps me out.. i mean HOW was i suppost to know that a million ppl had asked the same question.. i havent been here that long.. but no he just tells me "keep it in one thread" and closes my thread.. i mean how many threads are on here about the same questions to do with knock sensors, y-pipes, exhausts, etc.. i mean i havent been here that long and ive noticed that.. and the answers to all that is in the stickies too.. but he doesnt seem to be closing those threads.. PLUS its not like we can just search the website for stuff.. becuase that option isnt available!

This is not the way to handle the situation. Do some research....find out who has one, and PM them. Dont make such a big deal about it though.

Deezo is my boy, and a very cool, nice guy. If you have personal issues, don't cheap shot him publicly, send him or a staff member a PM.

Then you should PM him back and let him know you didn't appriciate the attitude, and that you want to get this worked out in a civil manner. Never give up unless they personally attack you or do something that violates the org rulebook.

It's not a big deal man, just chill out about it.

What Deezo meant was that there was already an ECU thread, so you should have posted YOUR question in that thread. No, there wasn't anything about JET or whatever in there yet, but it IS a thread about ECU's and your question would have fit in PERFECTLY, and would have been answered.

Deezo is just trying to conserve space, and make things more efficient and "clean". Your topic fit perfectly in that other thread, and there wasn't a need to post a new thread about it. Not a big deal.

This is simple. Nowhere in your post did you mention that you made an effort be an intelligent person and not a typical newbie by doing a
SEARCH

We have no patience on here for people just asking questions that have already been asked at least 300 times (literally). The information is already there. Posting things like this takes up server space and bandwidth. If you had been around for the ridiculous issues we dealt when the server couldn't even handle the veteran members, you would understand. A lot of time, money and effort was used (notice the occasional mention of donations) to get the board running as smoothly as it does now. You were "just asking for help," yes we know, but there are other ways of finding the information yourself. Ways that don't cost bandwidth and server space, which means money. Welcome to the .Org, sorry you had a run-in with a mod, but don't feel sorry for yourself. This board and all of its members have been through a lot. We aren't going to give you anything on a silver platter except a quick lesson on how to be a productive, self-sufficient adult.

Steps to take if you have a question:
1. Google search (or other preferred engine).
2. Maxima.org "Stickies," they are there for a reason.
3. Maxima.org "search" button.
4. Do another Google search because there's no way you tried a decent number of terms the first time around.
5. Do another Maxima.org search for the same reason.
6. Ask a mechanic or dealer or someone who knows some sh*t about cars.
8. Post a thread.

And just what did you think this thread would accomplish? Had you actually done what we all hope newbies would do, which is read the damn stickies, then we wouldn't have this problem. Or if you did what he suggested by keeping it in one thread. We don't need a dozen threads beating a dead horse. This goes for everyone who posts dumba$$ threads like "what's the best intake/y-pipe", "what spark plugs should I use", "where can I get red/clears for my 95/96" etc. For Christ's sake, just read the stickies; they're there for a reason. They are the accumulation of knowledge that answer 95% of the questions posted by newbies. Okay, I'm done ranting.

badaxxima... im not asking for anything to be given to me on a silver platter.. i know aobut the stickies.. and never saw anything about it in there.. maybe i missed it.. excuse me.. and ive known for a while now that the SEARCH doesnt work.. and like you said.. IM a newbie.. so i was just automatically suppose to know that a million plus ppl had asked the same question i did.. i mean for the short time ive been on here ive noticed that ppl post a lot of stuff in the stickies and he never closed theirs off.. so he just closed mine and never offered any advice.. just told me to keep it in one thread.. how was that fair..

I remember when i was new and still kinda am, i posed something that is a really dumb question but not at the time. The stickys are really good, granted it sucks that the search doesnt work, and there is no way you could do any real research without it. Read the stickys and youll see that theres a lot of good information in there. Later post and granted some people that seem to know everything may bash on you but others wont. Dont get stressed out over this, yea you may be mad but is it really worth it? Youll see that almost all the people here are actually nice people.

Dude i once asked if it were at all possible to put in an auto climate control. My last 98 had it and i hate the analog with a passion. I can say now that its a really stupid question for a few reasons. Mind you, you have no idea how badly i was bashed for it.
The answer is in the sticky but i missed it,
I didnt think about the question before i asked it either, meaning how would a system like that need for it to work. finally i realized that it really was a dumb question.

As for you and deezo, im sorry but i must agree with everyone somewhat... i dont think your an a$$hole or anything but creating a new thread over this really isnt the way to go. Maybe PM him back at tell him that he was out of line and that if you did offend him that your sorry... something like that. Who knows, he may answer your question in the end. Dont flip out over something like this.

oh im fine about it.. like i had said was i was trying to let ppl know what kind of moderator he was.. i mean i know im new.. and i try to read the stickies.. as much as possible.. but it was just the fact that he was the more knowldgable person here.. an he just closed it out and never helped me out.. or lent me any advice.. thats why hes the moderator and im not.. i dont know what all info is on here.. and then i try to pm him and resolve it and he gets an attitude... i NEVER once got an attitude before him.. so yes i was mad.. who wouldnt have been..

You still don't get it my man. This isn't about "fair." He has a job to do. If you read the stickies, you should have noticed something about how many times questions get asked. If you keep hearing about "why Jet ecus suck" then chances are, someone posted some sh*t about it. Granted, the search function may have been broken, but you still have Google.

I used the search function just now and got this among 200 others: ECU thread...

Alright, I think all the "older" org members should lighten up and let this thread die or get locked...all notable points have been made. Everyone just get off your high horses, chill out and have a beer, and hopefully Dana and JDM will resolve this little "dispute".

Sometimes its not what you say but how you said it... i dont really know what was said and its really none of my buisness. Maybe he took something the wrong way or maybe he didnt mean it to come out in a bad way. I still think you should have spoken to him and not told the world... its kinda like starting romors (not saying thats what your doing)
