Pics: just got dropped on Illuminas/Tokico's

Finally, my car looks quite a bit better and handles much better with my upgrade from stock struts/springs (my car's got 135k miles) with Tokico Illuminas and Tokico Springs. Got this kit on eBay (same one on CustomMaxima) for $550 with shipping. It's not drastically lower (my friend said he thought it looks normal), but it is def. lower quite a bit lower than stock. The drop is supposed to be 1.5 in front and 1.3 in rear.

Now I'm all set, now just need to save up for rims.

Some pics I just took with a fairly crappy camera with no light:

And my CE FSTB:

Let me know what you all think. Also, thank you Patrick (phenryiv1) for doing the drop!

How's the handling? Front looks higher than the back to me.

Don't worry about these people... for having just dropped it with those springs it looks perfect with me. It will probably settle another half inch in the next week or so, that's how mine was. Looks good.

Was thinking about getting the same kit.

Can you tell me how the car feels when you go over bumps or potholes?

Is it very stiff or soft?

Thanks.

dang, that's 1 spring/strut combo i'd give serious consideration to because they were developed together. Better than any spring/strut combo bought separately.

Right now I have the settings on 5/5 for stiffest as possible and I like the feeling. Nice n solid. However I'll be playing around with the dials with the softer settings soon and experimenting. But I really love the feel of this, def. recommend it.

Edit: I just had them put on yesterday, so I'll be testing with them a lot more today and will report back.

I'm curious about these too.

I absolutely LOVE the stock suspension's shock impact absorption, but I HATE the floatiness of the overall suspension travel. I would like to improve overall body motion control and get rid of the rear axle hop in corners while maintaining the stock setup's complaint impact absorption. After pushing the car a few times, it seems to handle "acceptably", but it just feels so sloppy doing it.

Oh, and I'd like to lose that fat wheel well gap, but not at a significant expense of ride quality.

Are these struts/springs the way to go, or would a FSTB and RSB be sufficient for addressing my ride/handling concerns?

Fadeaway... did you get those from jdmwerks on ebay?
If so, is there anything else in the kit besides struts/springs... new bump stops or anything? Mine should be arriving tomorrow.

fadeaway, if you will move the u-brackets of the RSB out toward the wheels a little more, you will get a more steady feel.
You want those things as far out to the wheel edge as possible.

mzmtg , I assume those new shock mounts would only be beneficial after installing aftwremarket shocks/springs?

No, they will help with OEM springs too. It might not be as noticeable in every day driving though.
