You ordered them and NOW you're asking what they'll look like? You're kind of doing this in the wrong order

How about you get them, put them on, then post pictures here of what they look like.

The best brand is Wearhertech they fit in the window trac and are more flush to the car.

Hate them... Maybe body color is alright, But has to be weathertechs inside the channel design... The 3M tape ones SUCK... Any Mod you stick to your car with tape is a no no...

the weather techs are nice but my car came with the ventshades. behind them are all kinds of imperfections and the rest of the trim is sunfaded so if I got the in channel ones I would have some funny looking trim. There is one spot covered in super glue. The previous owner thought it would hold the visor down! I have looked at my visors so long that I like them more than the others. If my car was not black or if I had chrme trim they look dumb.

Maxmojo has a neat set too. (Cefiro Rain Guards)

So there are 3 kinds

Auto Ventshade, stick on with 3M tape

(Jsutter)

Weather Tech, in channel

(Nismotic)

Cefiro Rain Guards, Stick on?

(MaxMoJo)

Pick one you like

I believe the ventshades do not go all the way down the window channel. Weathertechs go all the way down, so no rain enters at all. A very good investment I might add.

so the weather techs are still actually outside the car? u guys make it seem like u can close ure window and the weathertechs would be inside the car window....they are like the taped ones, only more flush, like someone else said above, right?

Weathertechs go INSIDE the window channel, the same channel the glass uses. Of course they are out side of the car, they are just more flush with the body.

All other brands stick onto the outside trim of the window. For example, if you have a GXE/GLE, the other brands will stick onto the chrome trim of the door and cover parts of it as where the weahtertechs fit into the glass channel and not obstruct anything.

lol, i agree!!! i always had that problem except IMO it looks REAL ugly, not a little ugly....so the weathertech ones look a little better....over 90 bucks for the set though....

i have them on mine and it covers the chrome trim a little. as far as looks, they could be better, i'd prefer the weathertech ones, but i'm not gonna dish out more money for them when the ones i have are perfectly functional. the other downside is the wind noise. i don't remember how it was before i had them on, but now it's not great. not too horrible, but noticable. however keeping the rain out if i need to open the window is worth it.

So the point of these (other than cosmetic - which is a subjective decision) is so you can drive with your windows cracked open in the rain?

You can drive with the windows down a good 2-3 inches and no water will get in at all even if there is a monsoon, with the weathertech's anyway. I opted to save money on my old car and went cheap with the ventshades and after a few months I had a drip because the 3M foam tape they came with was coming loose.

You get what you pay for, so it's up to the individual buyer. You can save money, get the ventshades and compromise on looks and longevity or pay about double and get the weathertechs that look a lot better and are much more reliable. It breaks down to about $25 bucks a door with weathertechs, I think they're worth it.

And not that it happens often but the weathertechs can't be stolen with the windows up as where the ventshades can be pulled off relatively easily and all you need to re-use them is 3M moulding tape available anywhere. Lincoln Town Car cabbies get them stolen a lot unless they have weathertechs.

they're both good for smokers too, not that i smoke or allow it in my car.

i always seem to be happy i have them because it seems i always end up needing to open my window to either talk to someone or for some reason.

i've never had a problem with my 3m tape aside from the fact that i put one of them on slightly crooked and off target but i recently fixed it and have had no trouble.

Another good point... weathertechs only fit one way, no messing it up at all.

Ventshades need the surface to be properly cleaned and prepped and then you have to stick them on right the first time. If you mess up you may need new 3M tape or deal with the way you stuck it on.

Here's are two pictures of weathertechs on my Maxima. You can see the flushness to the body and how they look inside of the window channel.

And in this picture are a set of ventshades on another car for comparison. You can see they bulge out much more and have to be glued onto the body of the car, in this case onto the paint.

I do have a picture of the car from directly in front but the weathertechs don't show up in the picture because they are too flush. Below is the picture anyway, you can just see the slightest trace of the passenger door one. To get them to show up in a front view picture, the picture would have to be at a slight angle.

There was a crazy group deal set up for about 25 ppl about 2 summers ago...and when it came time to pay, the vendor wanted everyone to fax our drivers licenses, credit card info to his place.

Weathertech's are only like $50 per pair. They don't even cost enough to need a group deal....
