Something wrong with gas gauge

During these past few fill-ups, I've noticed that the needle doesn't go all the to the F line. Instead it's below it. A long time ago, I remember that the needle even went past above the F line. I tried everything.. different gas stations (sunoco, exxon, etc.) and even tried to see if topping off would help. Is there something wrong with it?

This isn't really an answer, but I was over at How Stuff Works, and there's an article the about How Fuel Gauges work, which might be of interest.

Another cool article talks about finding the best speed for maximum fuel efficiency. I didn't realize that driving at say 30 mph is actually less fuel efficient than driving at 40 mph. Check it out here.

Mine did that for like 1.5 years when I bought it used. I always filled up Shell here in Canada.

I then now moved only to Petro Canada and after two fill ups 1.5 years ago, I always read full. It was a gas thing for me for sure based on my fill ups here and there with shell. It is really weird. BTW, I only fill up regular.

Car still runs great and dont tell me my car is going to explode by using regular. I belive 99% of the non .org owners fill up regular. I know guys who own 95 max's and after 9 years, creeping on to 10 years, no problems what so ever.
