I own a 97 maxima gle which has auto. climate control. Is it normal for the AC compressor to be running in the winter when its cold outside? I noticed that water is coming off the compressor and driping on to the ground even though the heater is on. I can put the controls on economy and I hear what I believe to be the compreesor stop running. This is not in the defrost mode but in auto and 50 degrees outside. Is anything wrong or does the compressor run always in the auto mode? Thanks for replies.

yes, it should still run to dry out the air with or without defrost on i believe
