Clutch/STS questions
Hey all.... my clutch is starting to slip, so I am in need of a new one. The only performance mod I have is a CAI, and I am probably going to get a y-pipe soon. I don't plan on doing any more. What clutch would be the best for me? Do I need something that can handle higher torque when all I have is the CAI and YPipe? Are there any clutches out there that make the pedal a little lighter, or should I just stick with the OEM clutch?
Also, I want to buy a short throw shifter, and I hear that the B&M is the nicest (correct me if I'm wrong). But I have also read that Courtesy Nissan also makes a STS that is very comparable to the B&M (for cheaper). Are there any others that are cheaper that would be of the same quality as B&M, or should I go with something completely different?
Please let me know, thank you!

If CAI and Ypipe are the only things you have planned, an OEM clutch would be great. Nealoc runs the stock clutch no problems and you see the stuff his car has. Besides, the OEM clutch will probably offer you the longest durability.
As far as the STS, yes the Courtesy is a knock off from the B&M and it's wonderful. Two things I recommend however are a snap-ring tool (any auto parts store in the tool section), and some teflon grease for the pivot ball (since Courtesy doesn't include that, I had some left from a previous CM STS install on my car).

dont waste your money on an aftermarket clutch that will most likely not last as long as OEM. go to nissan or courtessyparts.com and order an OEM, but make sure you do not get the key value.

which parts do i have to order at courtesy nissan? how much more expensive would the dealer be than courtesy nissan?
Oh and do i have to take this to the dealer to have it installed? or will most random shops know how to install the clutch?

you need to order the disc assembly, the plate assembly, release bearing, and the alignment tool. you also need a pilot bushing, but the one from your current clutch can be re-used. dont go to nissan, they will charge you a bunch of money for the install. have a local shop (that you know does good work) do the install, can probobly find it for around 300.

I have no insight, because I'm still trying to decide which one I want too... That link might help you out though.
