Who Here has the DTM(Dallas Taillight Mod)???

i just wanted to know who here has the dallas taillight mod on their car. im considering doing that instead of gettin the red/clear tails. in my opinion i like the DTM better than the other ones. pictures would be a great help too, preferably on the lakeshore blue color(if anyone does have it) but any color will do. whats ur guys opinion on this topic???

you cant do it on 95-96 without red clear tail lights. other wize it will look like crap with the factory red/amber.

if you tint it well enough you wont be able to see the amber, except when you hit the turn signals. or you vcan red out the amber than tint it. most ppl when they get red/clears, still put in amber or red bulbs cus they dont want to get stopped by the 5-0.

Yea thats seriously pretty ugly.. it looks like someone painted your car and forgot to tape over your tail lights.

DTM is pretty nice, I will be doing it soon on my bumper lights as well. I really like 95/96's with just the amber blacked out, it looks sick. I have red clears so no worry for me

Even though its ugly by the standards of some, I get at least 2 maxima owners a week asking me how I got my taillights to look like that. I love the look of the DTM and I am glad to live in a city were most of the modded maxima' have this Big improvement to arise of there cars.

hahaha, i havent had any problems with the police yet...knock on wood...

ant: what ever, ur the first person not to like them...meh

2 da max: thanks. that is the stock rear '96. let me guess? your wondering about the stillen rears? all '96

ya know...after looking at some of these pics, i guess the DTM tails arent that bad, but only if you only do a thin layer of tint like darrick and jstutter. you guys put a real thin layer of tint so its noticable but you cna still see through pretty well, that actually looks pretyt tight, but only on black, tinting light housings like tails and bumper lenses on light colored cars is nasty...just my opinion.

DTM with black paint on the inside of the lense looks the best. I tinted the red part and left white alone on my old max. It looked tight.

When you paint the reflective part inside all black, how much light transfer do you lose?

He got what I would call, "a little carried away" with Niteshades tint paint... if I remember correctly he put on something like 20 coats of that stuff!

How did I do what? I had my tails sprayed black, and I photoshopped my license plate out of the photo.

Nite shades lol.....I don't think so, look how shiny they are. A friend of mine owed me a favor so he sprayed them for me. House of Kolors (1 coat) is a touch different than Nite shades.
