code 1447
I have a 1997 Maxima that I recently changed (2) O2 sensors and the knock sensor. I reset the codes to turn off the check engine light. The CEL was off for 1 day before it came back on. I re-tested it and a new code, P1447, came up. I have researched it and have gotten very general info. on what it is. Can someone please tell me what this is and how to fix it? Also, will it affect the emissions test that I have to perform to pass a safety inspection?

Code p1447 is actually code 0111 which means bad EVAP control system/Flow. Not sure what this means exactly, but this is what the code stands for. Maybe someone with more knowledge on the subject can help out.

Possible causes include ...
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve stuck closed.
- EVAP control system pressure sensor and its circuit.
- Loose, disconnected, or improper connection of rubber tube.
- Blocked rubber tube.
- Blocked or bent rubber tube to MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve.
- Cracked EVAP canister.
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
- Closed Throttle Position Switch.
- Improper connection of one-way valve.
- Blocked purge port.
- EVAP canister vent control valve.
This is a "jackpot" code. It points to so many possible causes as to be almost useless. It may be accompanied by another DTC which is more specific. Are there any other codes?
Buy yourself the "Haynes" manual, not Chilton's! I don't have mine with me at work but they get into pretty good specifics on where to start, possible fixes and where everything is.
