I got a service engine light on my 1998 Maxima today. The code pulled was a P1148 Air/Fuel Mixture. I did some additional research and also found "Closed Loop Control Malfunction Bank 1" Has anyone had this code before and if so what was the solution, because I don't feel like paying a mechanic $50 bucks just to tell me what I already know, for a part i can install myself.

I believe "bank 1" has to do with the rear cylinders [1,3,5 i think] maybe 1 of your plugs isn't firing or coil pack isn't seated properly. Can't remember where i read it. What symptoms are you having? that will help.

 

There are no symptoms, it is however burning alot of oil, but no leaks or white smoke. Also once is a great white it will stall on idle, but that is only on rare occasions.
