remove the ashtray
ok i have been trying to do this for the last few days....and i can't seem to get this piece of **** out....i took out the caseing around the shifter and tryed pulling it out and got nothing....so i tried to take out the console(where the headunit is) and not luck there....
and yes i did unscrew the screws....
pics wouldn't hurt

i got it done with this guide. i also had some trouble removing the ashtray for a while and i thought i had taken out all the screws, but it turned out i had forgotten one. dunno if that helps at all, but good luck with it.
There is one screw holding tha ashtray in. All you have to do is remove the bezel around the shifter and look for a screw on the drivers side of the ashtray. Remove that and you will have to wiggle it around a bit to make it come out. Hope this helps!

yah Ive been wondering how to do this also. I have a Rockford fosgate amp w/ the separate gain control and want to put it in the ash tray instead of underneath the dash. I saw someone on here w/ this setup and have been wanting to get it done.
