Raybestos QS pads squealing

I put in the Raybestos QS pads and they are squealing really bad on my mom's Max. I'm pretty sure they come shimmed, could be wrong. I also have them on my Max and they don't squeal at all. So could it be that the rotors are glazed and have to be cut/resurfaced. Any advice would be great.
Thanks
Al

Any pad can squeal if it's not installed correctly. The shims are there to help prevent the vibration that leads to squealing noises. Something else you can do is apply a special "Disc Brake Quiet" compound between the steel backing plates of the pads and the shims. This compound dries to a rubbery film that damps out vibrations.

when i first got QS they squealed for a while. just make sure that any part of the pad that touches the caliper is lubed up with something like 3M silicone lube and just drive it around for a bit.

They don't come with the shims already one em, they come in the package. I hate to question your intelligence, but did you actually put the shims on?

Noise is caused by vibration. Vibration is from the pad "ears" sliding back/forth. If that area is dirty with brake dust/dirt, it will squeal. Even with the goopy crap on the back of the pads
