Cat Back Exhaust Systems

As part of working on my exhaust system I'm considering a stainless cat back for my 96 Maxima. I'd like one that does not make a lot of extra noise in ordinary driving. I see several of them out there, Greddy, Cattman, .... What have your experiences been? Have there been any comparisons done on the forum betwwen the various brands?

Thanks

do a search and read the stickies it'll answer alot of your question. For the quiet exhaust you should go with the greddy sp2 or the apexi ws2 they are both great exhaust

The GReddy is anything but quiet. I had to have a second resonator installed to quiet it to acceptable levels.

Go with the Apexi WS. I love mine that I have. It's got a low growl, not ricey at all. It's one of the most quietest exhausts that I have heard before.

It depends if you have a Y pipe or not... if you dont have a Y pipe then the Greddy makes some noise but its bearable... the Apexi is a real nice and quiet piece but its no longer made... if not just stay stock, your not getting much HP out of a catback... and you'll be gettign noise anyway

The don't make the Apexi WS anymore if I recall correctly. If I were to buy a catback exhaust and money was no object, I would definately get the Cattman exhaust. All aftermarket exhaust is going to be louder than stock.

I recommend the cattman catback, or the greddy SP2. I've herd both in person and the Greddy Sp2 was more quiet than cattman's, but the cattman has this very nice deep sound.

Yes, I also have a Y-pipe and high flow cat mated to the SP2. The resonator gives me a nice deep burble at partial throttle and at WOT, she sounds like an absolute beast.

they dont make anything for the 97-99 max's do they.No apexi WS,no greddy evo2 or sp2.Anyway to make them fit? Cuz I want the EVO2 but they only make them for the 00-02 or 03 maximas.Or even the WS would be nice.Whats the problem with fitment?
