screw-out brake calipers??

the piston on my brake calipers screwed in and out instead of going straight in and out when I was changing the pads. Is this normal?? Just thought it was kinda weird

Can you state your issue clearer? I don't get it. I have spent a bunch of time on my rears lately, they work good now.

The rear calipers have the parking brake mechanism built into them. The parking brake is self-adjusting. That's why the pistons on the rear calipers are different than the fronts.
