How does intake effect gas milage?
#2
In theory if you drive the same way you normally drive, you will get the same milage. But many people notice drops in MPG because they tend to rev the car higher to hear the intake. I must say, the VQ does sound really damn good at WOT with an intake. =)

I couldn't really tell a difference in my fuel mileage after installing the intake. Although if your original filter is really dirty (restrictive), your mileage should improve a little. But it really shouldn't get any worse...

I bought a cold air intake off ebay a while back and it didnt fit with out heavy modification, i.e. drilling into the fender. So I installed the intake filter and I swear my mpg has dropped so far! Not sure if its because I like to hear it (when I stomp it I can literally see my gas guage go down) or what but it seems like however I drive it goes down.

ive probly lost at least 50 miles with my intake due to higher revs. i used to get 350-400 city mpg stock. now i usually get around 300mpg if not less, 350 if i drive really light on a tank.

Ok so what we are pretty much telling you is that your gas mileage is probly going to suffer because the VQ sounds so **** sexy at WOT and you cant get enough of it. I usually open her up once every tank of gas just because I cant help hearing the sound of my engine... its crazy.
